On the fab floor, glass wafer processing doesn’t leave room for thermal drift. Soft bake that’s even 0.5°C off target, and you’re fighting photoresist thickness variation. Hard bake without tight uniformity, and you’re setting yourself up for pattern collapse. For hitting the thermal budget with control, infrared lamp systems are the only way I’d run it.
What matters under the hood
We built short-wave infrared lamps specifically for glass, tuned so the spectral output matches low-thermal-mass absorption and snaps to temperature fast. Across the bake zone, wafer-level uniformity holds at ±0.1°C, and repeatability is spec’d to keep Cp/Cpk steady under continuous use. The assembly is cleanroom-ready for Class 1–100, with zero particle generation verified by in-situ particle monitoring. Output stays stable over 5,000+ hours, with intensity drift under 5%.
Why it plays in lithography
In lithography lines, that means consistent soft bake and hard bake profiles on glass substrates, tighter CD control, and lower defect density. You get quicker ramp-to-setpoint, less energy per batch, and fewer scrapped wafers. It supports standard wafer formats and drops into existing tracks and coat/bake modules, so you keep your process flow intact while tightening thermal performance.
What to watch on install
Installation comes down to precise optical alignment and a dedicated thermal management loop. If the cooling is mismatched or the reflector geometry is off, uniformity falls apart. The lamp output is sensitive to line stability, so spec a clean, regulated supply. Expect a bit more upfront time on calibration; after that, the bakes settle in and stay repeatable, which cuts downtime and keeps maintenance interventions out of production.
